Where to Stay in Bucks County
Bucks County is about 45 minutes long from the Philadelphia border to the farm country up north, and the lodging changes character as you move. There are 64 properties total — 35 hotels, 21 inns, 7 bed and breakfasts — and where you book depends on what brought you here.
Weekend Getaway or Date Trip
New Hope has more lodging than any other town in the county and is the default for couples: the Logan Inn (operating since 1727), Ghost Light Inn, Hotel Du Village, and Aaron Burr House are all within walking distance of restaurants, galleries, and the Delaware River. For something quieter, Bridgeton House in Upper Black Eddy and Golden Pheasant Inn in Erwinna are riverside properties in Upper Bucks where the draw is the scenery and the pace, not the nightlife.
Museums, Restaurants, and Day Trips
Hargrave House B&B in Doylestown puts you a short walk from the Michener Art Museum and the Main Street restaurant district. The Golden Plough Inn at Peddler's Village in Lahaska is inside the shopping and festival grounds — useful during events like the Grand Illumination. If you want a chain hotel in Central Bucks, Hampton Inn in Warrington and Homewood Suites in Newtown are the closest options to the downtowns.
Family Trip or Business Travel
Families visiting Sesame Place in Langhorne and business travelers heading into Philadelphia tend to stay along the Route 1 corridor. Courtyard by Marriott in Langhorne, Holiday Inn Express in Warminster, and Hampton Inn in Yardley are the standard picks — close to I-95 and the turnpike. Bensalem is the closest Bucks County town to Center City Philadelphia, about 30 minutes by car. This part of the county is highway-oriented and less walkable than Central or Upper Bucks, but the rates are lower and the highway access is faster.
